Waste Ventures India places waste pickers at the front and centre of our mission. Through our dedicated and consistent collection of low-value plastics from Waste pickers, we help improve their income by almost 20% and divert waste that otherwise would have been landfilled or burnt. Social impact + environment impact- it’s a Win-Win for all.

In 2020, when Covid-19 hit, the informal waste pickers were one of the worst-hit. They quickly lost revenue and struggled to make ends meet. WVI quickly jumped into action. In partnership with Yunus Social Business Fund and Navya Disha Trust, WVI distributed meals, grocery kits and health kits to more than 6000 waste pickers across Hyderabad for 3 months.
